The cutting board, made of plain unvarnished high quality hinoki wood or Japanese cypress, was inspired from Laguiole’s beautiful nature. Because it is made of natural unvarnished wood and not of engineered material, it can be resurfaced. The cutting board is made by joining five layers of unvarnished wood. This structure and technique not only prevent the board from warping and changing shape, but they also add a delicate and beautiful expression to the grain of the wood.
